Alpha Update 2.52


Here is update 2.52! Next update on itch.io will be in a few weeks, but the 2.6 update is already available on Patreon.

The 2.52 Update mostly focuses on presentation, with a lot of new art for events and companions, new sound effects, and a new music track. The Alchemy system has also been reworked to be part of inn projects, and Lucy has her own companion page and skill tree.

There's also a bunch of QOL changes, balance adjustments, and some bug fixes.

With Alchemy being moved from the afternoon time slot, we'll be adding some more companion interactions into the afternoon with a bunch of new scenes for the growing cast of the inn.

Alpha 2.52 Patch Notes

Added

  • New Music Track
  • New SFX
  • New NPC dialog portraits
  • New Event Art
  • Potion crafting rework: Lucy's alchemy has been moved to the Inn Projects screen and has new mechanics.
  • Potions and tools have new crafting recipes with new ingredients.
  • To get the ingredients for potion crafting, break down reagents and monster loot with fire and alcohol.
  • Potions are more in line with other inn projects, and take time to brew (usually 1-3 days)
  • Lucy has a page on the Companion screen, and a skill tree to go with it.
  • Lucy has 5 of her 10 skills implemented, all of which improve her alchemy
  • New companion portraits for Lucy, Ellie, Willow, and Ailis
  • New winter enemy
  • Sword and Rapier both have a new trait: Parry - granting +1 bonus dice to dodging
  • Plate and Scale Mail armor have the Heavy trait, increasing stamina costs for dodging
  • Leather and Boiledleather armor have the Light trait, granting +1 bonus dice to initiative rolls
  • Chainmail and Fey armor have  the slash resist trait, granting immunity to the bleed status
  • Lucy Skill: Better reagent yield, reagents now give +2 Antimon and +1 Senic when you free principles

Adjustments

  • Increased the sell value of Stamina, Healing, and Mana Potions
  • Access to potion and tool crafting unlocks more gradually now
  • Some descriptions + tool tips
  • Stasis ritual changed 84% chance to proc down to 75% chance to proc.
  • Nightshades and briar now drop both venom and heartwood
  • Echobears, Direwolves, and soldiers now drop loot
  • Auto-killing monsters on patrols now gives loot
  • Monster loot drops are now guaranteed
  • You can drink one potion each round of combat without advancing initiative
  • Almost all enemies deal +1d6 damage. The earliest enemies (wolves, echoes, blights, spiders) are unchanged.
  • Adjustments to potion and item belt UI in combat
  • Local Hero skill replaced with Coordinated Strikes. This skill ensures your companions start with 1 AP in combat.
  • Gear traits are displayed on the merchant screen

Fixes

  • Some missing button press SFX
  • Scout will not patrol with you if a) you have no stamina or b) there is a blizzard
  • UI fix for dialog boxes on forge screen
  • Various typos
  • Mana ritual in the gnoll hills wasn't always raising your max mana by the full amount. Fix is retroactive.
  • Ellie's explosions won't send your inn's condition into the negatives
  • An Ailis/Willow event showing up out of order
  • Missing patrol art for army rogue
  • Bug preventing winter crews from working on outposts
